We started day two in the city at Cafe Viand, our favorite local place to eat breakfast. Then we met up with Meghan and walked through Central Park to get to the Met. That’s right, we made it to the museum! Way to go us! This is us stopping outside the museum to beverage up before getting cultured up.

Inside the museum we did what all people do in the Met, which was get lost and wonder if we’d ever make it out. But, we did and had a good time inside, seeing great paintings and a special exhibit called “Pietre Dure” which was awesome. (It’s hard to explain but is colored stones pieced together to make intricate designs that the european royalty was in love with for a time and is absolutely beautiful) Totally worth our struggle to find it in the museum. (with the help of two useless and one very helpful docent)

While you’re not technically allowed to take pictures at the met, I took a picture of the floor in the sculpture area and the ceiling in a spanish art area so you could all see how lovely they are. Also, if feeling the urge to re-do the floors in my apartment, I’d like the tile work pictured below. Thanks.

Post museum we went to Ezra’s to see Erica before she leaves for a trip to California and meet up with Lisa. There Dad made a new best friend (Ezra) who was attached to dad the entire time we were there. He would occassionally walk to someone else, then immediately back to his BFF. It was pretty cute.

Here’s wishing Erica a great trip and we will miss you!

After Ezra’s, we walked down to Peter’s, our favorite Italian restaurant, where mom had her first (3) cosmopolitan and the best scallops she had ever tasted. A good meal was had by all.

Then we wandered home, stopping to get frozen yogurt and cranberry juice so mom could make more cosmopolitans (2) at the house. We played some games with Meghan and Lisa and had a lovely day.

Off to the statue of liberty, rockefeller center and a broadway show on friday…
