I’d like to give myself an A for Effort when it comes to my attempt to capture on film some portion of John’s visit. However, that would be a false grade when in fact, I deserve an F. I never tried. Not once. I never even had my camera with me when I left the house. What can you do? If I were a talented artist, I could sketch for you some part of our day on Sunday.

Ah, Sunday…my favorite day of the week in NYC. And thanks to John, I didn’t work yesterday for the first Sunday in a long time. We ate brunch and sat next to this adorable little girl and her dad. This little girl who talked her dad into ordering the following for the two of them: french onion soup, cheeseburger with fries, chicken noodle soup “with 800 crackers” and 3 scrambled eggs. Try not to be shocked when the little girl declared half-way through the soup that she was full. To which her dad replies, “tell me you’re kidding”. She then told him that if he let her wait a minute for “my stomach to stop going to the bathroom and it will all turn into acid and then I can eat some more”. Poor girl with her Dad who is cleary not so learned when it comes to kids.

After brunch we spent some time wandering around Barnes and Noble and then we went to see a movie. We got to the movie theatre early so we sat outside on a lovely bench in a little courtyard and watched birds taking a bath in a waterfall. Yes, that actually happened in the middle of New York City. Below is a picture (not taken by me) of where we sat behind the movie theatre.

All in all, a great Sunday in the city with some of the best weather we’ve seen in a while. It was perfect outside. Perfect.

Thanks John for a fun weekend of re-living our college glory and thanks NYC for providing a great Sunday.
