This was the question I was asking myself as I was leaving for work Thursday night. Hmmm…where can they be? I didn’t get too nervous. i switch back and forth between a couple of totes pretty often, so I was sure they were around the house somewhere. However, as time passed, and my search was fruitless, I began to wonder if they weren’t really missing. So, like any good investigator, I tried to retrace my steps. It was at this point that I remembered that last time I had used them and when I had last seen them. The answers to these questions led me to call Maren. Yes, Maren. Resident of Canada who recently left my house for a trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

If you’re thinking this doesn’t sound too good for the fate of my keys, you are right. So, I call Maren and ask her if my keys are in her purse. “No” she immediately replies as she looks into her bag. And then, “uh, yeah they are in here” shortly followed. Yes, folks, Briannes keys are in the great state of Oklahoma and will be there until Sunday. Good work, Genow sisters, good work. When Meghan, Maren and I went out to breakfast Wednesday morning, I put my phone, chapstick and keys in Marens purse. When I got home I didn’t have to use my keys since Meghan let us into the house. I remembered to take out my phone and chapstick, but the keys clearly slipped my mind until I left the house on Thursday. Well done me.

Luckily, we have more than one friend with a copy of our house keys, so I didn’t have to wait too long. Super nice Lisa brought me her copies over to Ezras so that I didn’t have to be alone and homeless when I got off work in the am. Thanks, LBRN. Let this be a lesson to us all. Although, for those of you with cars, you see your keys a lot more often than I do so this is less likely to happen, but still, I’m sure there’s a lesson it this for all of you. You are welcome.
