I am so happy to have gotten my first issue of my ESPN the Magazine subscription. It has made me so happy. And while my first instinct was to read it through immediately, I have instead been savoring it slowly, a few pages at a time and it’s been great. I have already learned so much:
1. Bush senior put in a horseshoe pit on the White House lawn.
2. Clinton had it torn out
3. W had it put in immediately upon moving in. Those Bushes seem to really like their horseshoes.
It’s my hope that Obama has it taken out again.
I have also learned way more about the Winter X Games than I ever wanted to know. I don’t know what it is, but I just can’t get into the X games. Sure, the snow stuff is interesting in the Olympics, but much like curling and the trampoline, I don’t want to see it more often than every four years. Okay, I would watch curling more often. That’s awesome.
I can’t wait to keep reading this issue. If I time it correctly, I can finish this one with only a day or two before the next one comes which means I can have an almost daily dose of the glory that is ESPN the Magazine. One might say it’s “Shaqtastic”.
