While I’m pretty sure Lisa doesn’t read my blog, in case she does I warn her: DO NOT READ ON! Gilmore Girls spoiler ahead!
Okay, with that said, here’s my story. I’m rewatching Gilmore and it’s been rocking my world. I laugh, I cry, I say things out loud. It’s been great. Until last night. When I got to THE EPISODE. Which episode is that? Well, it’s the season finale of season 4 that caused the biggest fight and possibly the only real fight Amber and I have ever had. I’ve been fondly reminiscing about it ever since and am now sharing it with you.
Four score and seven years ago when Amber and I were watching this finale live (2004) the Gilmore Girls disagreed about a pretty important thing and then the show ends for the summer. Okay, that always happens. Things were fine, right? Nope. Because then the discussion started. And Amber and I were on very different sides and pretty passionate about the sides we had taken. It got bitter…fast. Amber and I still refer to this as “our fight” because that’s how great it was!
Now perhaps you are thinking this is silly, but I think it’s the mark of a great show that is written so well that you turn off the tv and have the same fight the two main characters have with the same, if not more, feeling. Oh Gilmore, how I miss you and the drama you brought to my living room.
And don’t worry, blog readers, Amber and I were able to survive the fight and are still friends. And while I’m glad we didn’t break up over our fight, don’t you think it would be a little awesome if we had severed our friendship over an episode of Gilmore Girls? Amber-if we ever do decide to stop being friends for some reason, I say we get together, watch this episode, recreate our fight and then call it a day so we can say that Gilmore broke us up. Sound good? Gilmore Girls Rocks!
