Well, people of the blog, we finally did it! Zak and I got together to plan our trip and actually planned our Europe trip!! We only had one drink and it took us one hundred million years but it’s done and we are now able to just be excited without being stressed about where we are going and how we are getting there and where we are staying. Three cheers for this!

It took us a long, long, long time. Zak got the the house at 10:30pm and we didn’t go to bed until 6am. And we didn’t take any planning breaks or watch TV or talk to anyone else. It was all planning all the time. You see, when Zak and Brianne travel, they do it right. Which is also code for let’s see how many places we can see in a short time. While this makes for great trips and good times, when you take that plan to Europe, it gets a little complicated. But, fear not, without having to compromise anything or give up any of the places we wanted to see, we finally came up with a comprehensive flight, train, car, hostel and hotel plan. To say it was long and rough would be a severe underestimate but it’s done! Reservations made! Mapquest directions printed! Check!

So, here’s a little look-see at our trip. While I’m away, I won’t be blogging live, but will have a post everyday telling you where we should be that day and what we should be seeing. This will be a nice way for you to keep track and also a good way of tracking us down if we don’t come home. You know, always be prepared.

The countries we will be seeing are: France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Lichtenstein, Italy and Switzerland. It’s ambitious. Requires the sort of advanced thought and prep that neither Zak nor I like to do and will involve many unknown languages. But, thanks to the Euro, only one currency. In these coming days I ask you to think positive foreign travel thoughts. Particulary since this foreign travel involves someone who doesn’t fare so well when travelling domestically. I mean, think of all the possible crappy things that could happen to me on this trip. Hopefully, the streak of travelling without problems when travelling with others will hold up. Fingers crossed…
